Novel turned film, The Virgin Suicides written by Jeffery Eugenides and directed by Sofia Coppola centres around the Lisbon sisters and their deaths. Great cinematics and ’70s romantic feeling, flowered dresses help to set the stage. This is a very visual piece, much like Marie Antoinette which Kirsten Dunst also starrred in. It also has a very Donnie Darko-esque sense. Not in the “I’m gonna try to be scary and deep” way, but in the way the story is told, actions of characters and the like.
